set through neck - a neck that has an extended heel that sits within the body and is sandwiched there by the top creating a very strong and responsive joint. The neck often extends to beneath the bridge.
violin carve - where the guitar top is fully carved from front to back and centre to edge as an elongated dome. The top will exhibit a shallow scooping out before rising to meet the edge - called a re-carve.
drop top - taking a thin 3/16" maple bookmatched top and dropping it over the forearm contour.
