follow a commission with us - Project BluesBird
The order - After discussions our client has chosen this design and paid a deposit
However, the choice of timbers is not the same. The client wants a bluesy guitar and so went for a Black Korina body and neck matched to a Koa top and a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard
To complete the design brief the client went for Monty's humbuckers, Schallers Signum wrapover bridge (as below) and Hipshot classic opens tuners, all in nickel finish
I want one
First delivery 2 weeks in - The Monty's PAF humbuckers have arrived and in some style!
So its week 3 and we have a black Korina shipment from Oregon, from a great supplier Gilmer Woods (our other go to wood suppliers are the excellent Exotic Hardwoods UK and David Dyke Luthier Suppliers). Also the last parts came in from some of our other go to suppliers Hipshot and StewMac. In this case Hipshot's open classic tuners and the rather excellent Schaller Signum locking wrapover bridge. Shown here is also one of the Monty's PAF pick ups set against a plan and profile drawing of the commission. Here's the book -matched figured Koa top too.
Week 4 and the timbers have reached optimum <10% moisture content and the final parts have arrived. So now we can start to manufacture the various parts from a detailed plan and profile drawing, the neck first.
