Transforming the Leviathan

We have in a Black Korina Strat copy with a Wenge neck. The customer loves the neck but the body weighs a ton. So we set about transforming this heavy weight leviathan into a sleek drop top

At 6.4 lb's its pretty weighty for a body without neck or hardware. First stage reduce the body thickness and get some air in their!

We had a quilt maple top ready to go, but had to get rid of the preexisting tremolo screw holes:

Then we had to address the post purchase bodge on the neck joint made to fit the Wenge neck:
